Meet our Staff……

We have a new face at The Woolery, Nellia Hickerson. Nellia is a student at Wilton-Lyndeborough Co-op and is learning to knit. She helps out on Saturdays and is a whiz behind the counter and straightening up the shop.

Behind the scenes, so to speak, is Jan Sanders, my office helper. Jan is a knitter and cross-stitcher and has had experience operating a needlework shop, The Woolly Mouse. She lives in Wilton and has two beautiful grandchildren to knit and stitch for. Jan is at the shop one day a week to keep me and my office organized and working more efficiently.

Bev Gienty is my perennial shop-sitter. Shortly after the Woolery opened, a mutual friend brought Bev in and the rest is history. Bev owned a yarn shop in Peterborough, and then in Dublin for many years and enjoys seeing many of her former customers at The Woolery. She now lives in Francestown. When I’m not here, you are likely to see Bev behind the counter or giving expert knitting advice. She is also a RN and works part time as a private duty nurse.

Sandra Drane is a part-time teacher and shop sitter at The Woolery. Sandy lives in Derry, NH, and her commitment to teaching knitting is exemplified by her willingness to drive to Wilton. Sandy is also a former shop owner, having had a yarn shop in Derry. Sandy gives private knitting classes, group classes and workshops. She enjoys circular knitting, is our sock expert and has taught at the Granite State Knit In. Sandy also operates the Knitconnection website. Read more in the teacher bio section.

Denise Gaertner is a teacher at The Woolery and at the Granite State Knit In as well. Denise has a lot of teaching experience after home schooling her three children. She is an expert knitter and designer, and enjoys sharing her talents. Denise has been teaching our Projects classes, taking on all sorts of projects and all sorts of knitting styles at once. She lives in Bedford, NH. Read more about Denise on the teacher bio page.

Our Crochet instructor, Carol Allan is a professional member of the Crochet Guild of America and a Certified Instructor for the CYCA. She has been teaching since 1999, but has been crocheting “forever”. Carol designs and makes garments and is an expert in her craft. We welcome her to The Woolery staff and we know you will enjoy her classes.
